How most beginners use Protocol

Choose a compound

Protocol's research library has 81 compound profiles. Each one covers what the compound does, the evidence behind it, dosing ranges, and how to reconstitute it. For most beginners, BPC-157 or TB-500 is the starting point. Read the profile before you order anything.

Reconstitute your vial

This is where most beginners get stuck. Open the reconstitution calculator, enter your vial size in milligrams and your target dose in micrograms, and the app tells you how much bacteriostatic water to add and how many units to draw per injection. You do not have to do the math yourself.

Log your first injection

After your first injection, open the app and log it: compound, dose, injection site. The 3D body map marks the zone you used. The vial tracker updates the doses remaining. The timeline starts building. From here, everything is incremental.

Track your vials

Reconstituted peptides have a shelf life. Refrigerated, most last 30-60 days. Protocol's vial tracker logs when you reconstituted, how many doses remain, and flags vials approaching expiry. You will not find out a vial has gone bad by noticing it stopped working.

The reconstitution calculator

The most common beginner mistake is adding the wrong amount of BAC water. A 5mg vial reconstituted with 1mL of water gives a concentration of 5mg/mL. At a dose of 250mcg, you draw 0.05mL — 5 units on a standard insulin syringe. That is not intuitive math, and doing it incorrectly means you are either underdosing significantly or taking more than intended.

Protocol's calculator works in both directions. Forward mode: enter vial size and BAC water volume, get concentration and units per dose. Reverse mode: enter your target dose and the units you drew, verify the concentration you mixed.

Each of the 81 compound profiles covers: what the compound does mechanistically, what the evidence shows (and what it does not show), dosing ranges from published protocols, reconstitution guidance, half-life and pharmacokinetics, and current regulatory status. The BPC-157 profile, for example, includes the outcome of the July 2026 PCAC vote — 8-6-1 recommended — which affects how compounding pharmacies can supply it going forward.
